David Dietz is the Director of Standards of the Global Seafood Alliance (GSA), responsible for maintaining the content of all BAP and BSP certification standards. David oversees the complete standards development process at GSA, including the formation of Technical Committees, public comment response, management of GSA’s Standards Oversight Committee, and maintaining standard’s alignment with external requirements and benchmarks. Outside of this process, David engages with producers, retailers, NGOs, and academics to educate about GSA standards and understand issues that will shape future requirements. Prior to GSA, David worked in U.S. fisheries management at the North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries. David holds a Masters of Environmental Management from Duke University.
